Sister to TxTowelie
Sister to TxTowelie's JournalPlease send some good vibes out to Texas Towelie this afternoon.
Hi, folks. My brother has a major physical health issue he's dealing with. He asked to keep his privacy, so I cannot reveal anything else, other than it is not COVID-19 related. I won't know anymore about his prognosis myself until later.
I know how much he appreciated his friends' well wishes, prayers, and vibes years ago when he had a different health issue he was dealing with. Please take a second for him if you can.
Thank you so much. Blessings to you all.
( BTW, Yes, he and I are on the same political team in our family.)

Police are gearing up for election day,
according to a stranger cutting my hair in the beauty salon today. She said her friend works in Knoxville TN and it is "all hands on deck" for next Tuesday and Wednesday. I guess they have seen enough evidence of trump bullies willing to go ballistic, locked and loaded.
Of course, I don't know if anyone has heard anything similar there or in other locations.
And then I went and voted.
Re-electing Isakson to the Senate might be placing rat-bastard Kingston in the senate.
Isakson has Parkinsons Disease, diagnosed three or four years years ago. There is speciulation that after a few months into his new term, he'll resign so Gov. Deal will name his replacement. Deal leans crazy-right like Kingston, who has been on the talk shows trying to make excuses for Trump. Kingston was nutty enough as a congressman. He shouldn't get a foothold as an incumbent in the senate.
Big bust at a Georgia prison over illegal cell phones.
Apparently some of the phones were used for conning people. Guards arrested, too.
What the media doesn't say is that phone calls can cost $5/minutes in state prisons, especially if they are privately run. I'd want a cellphone, too, instead of paying ridiculous rates like that.
I know someone in Texas who had to pay almost $900 for one phone call from a loved one because they didn't know what the rate was.
Military protection volunteers kicked off recruitment center property

The shooting prompted volunteers across the country to defend those centers, but in Paulding County, the group of volunteers has been kicked off the property.
A commercial glass installer, a veteran, a former truck driver, and even a stay-at-home mom are part of the first in the nation, Military Protection Assistance Program.
They've been packing heat since the Chattanooga tragedy, until a couple days ago.
"The big thing is, insurance companies saying that we are a liability, due to the fact that we have the guns, the long guns or any of them," said Crystal Tewelo.

Gun deaths: Domestic dispute leaves 2 children, 2 adults dead in
North Georgia. Here's the report from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Facebook page:
Before 6 a.m. today, deputies responded to a shooting call at a residence on Old Atlanta Road. Upon arrival, deputies located 5 individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.
An adult male, who is believed to be the alleged shooter, was located deceased on scene. Two young children were also found deceased at the scene. An adult male and adult female were transported to an area hospital, and the female later died as a result of her injuries.
The investigation is still on going, however, initial information suggests that this was a domestic related shooting and an apparent murder-suicide. There are no additional suspects at this time. Snip
Breaks my heart that kids die because their parents are irrational.
I hope I voted for the least foul of 4 choices for State House.
There has been some ugly lobbying here against Chris van Sant, claiming he's really a Democrat. From everything I read about him, he's a disgusting Tea Partier, at least philosophically.
I voted for Ethan Underwood. He's the only candidate that didn't have extremist anti-ACA, etc stuff written up about him.
Anyone else in my district, 24, I believe, needing to vote by Tuesday?
Shout-out of support and good wishes to TexasTowelie!
Folks, he's going through a lot right now. Has health problems and possible new ones that could be diagnosed. Let's hope and pray for the best though. I know he'll appreciate some good thoughts sent his way from his posse here.
Thank you.
Medical marijuana is now legal in Georgia.
http://politics.blog.ajc.com/2015/04/16/medical-marijuana-is-now-legal-in-georgia/Gov. Nathan Deal signed legislation Thursday that legalizes medical marijuana in Georgia, though tremendous hurdles remain for patients who want to get the drug.
House Bill 1, which took effect immediately, makes it legal for people who suffer from cancer, sickle cell disease and other illnesses to possess up to 20 ounces of cannabis oil if a physician signs off. The state estimates hundreds of thousands of residents could be eligible for the drug, and at least 17 Georgia families have had to temporarily move to places like Colorado where the cannabis oil is legal.
The biggest obstacle for those patients remains how theyll obtain the oil. Its illegal to cultivate marijuana in Georgia, which means families have to trek to Colorado and other states that have legalized the drug for medical purposes. That makes travel a tricky prospect, since most states, as well as the federal government, make possessing the drug a crime.

Hey Police! This is how you do it right (and not just
if the "perp" is white):
